I am often asked to explain the service I provide as a Wedding Solemniser and how I create your bespoke Legal Wedding Ceremony with you…. So here goes ……

When you say Say ‘I Do’ with Rev. Brenda O’Grady Wedding Solemniser & Family Celebrant you get a bespoke Ceremony. Created for you by the Weddingsonline Wedding Celebrant Of The Year 2023 & 2022 and WeddingSuppliers Wedding Celebrant Of The Year 2023, Brides of Munster Wedding Celebrant of the Year 2023 – runner up,  & International Wedding Awards 2022 and 2023 local rounds – Ireland – Celebrant of the Year.

From your first contact be it by phone email or Instagram you deal directly with ME not a booking service or a faceless admin. All of your interaction leading up to and including your Ceremony will be directly with me.

I absolutely love working with couples at this exciting time in their lives and I aim to create a Ceremony which reflects your personalities, your hopes and dreams for the future and to make yours an enjoyable and stress free journey. This ensures that the atmosphere on your wedding day maintains the integrity of the commitment you are making to each other and is informal, relaxed, enjoyable, fun and something both you and your guests can look back on with fond memories for years to come.

I only hold one wedding per day so you choose the time of your Ceremony and if that changes for any reason I am available. I encourage you to contact me as often as you need, to update instructions or to ask questions and I will reply to you in a timely manner.

As your Solemniser I will create a bespoke ceremony just for you which will be modern, upbeat and yet can include traditional and ancient rituals. I create your Ceremony from scratch in full consultation with you in order that the service includes everything you would like,  I do not use a template.

The Legal Wedding Ceremonies I create are Interfaith Wedding Ceremonies. An Interfaith Ceremony is a legal Wedding Ceremony for people of all beliefs or none. I have taken a vow of inclusivity, welcome diversity of beliefs, gender, orientation, colour, nationality, ability and culture within the bounds of Irish law.

The only part of your ceremony that is set in stone is  your Civil Vows everything else is flexible. Once your booking is confirmed I send you a bank of reflections, vows and blessings as a guide. Your Ceremony can include any reading, reflection, poem,  extract from a book or film or prayer that you wish. You can use the sample vows as a guide or you may write your own vows.

As regards music you can choose whatever music you wish I have held Ceremonies with classical music, heavy rock, country music and hymns, the choice is entirely yours.

I encourage you to include your family and guests in your Ceremony and will guide you on this when we meet.

You may wish to include personal vows, readings, ancient rituals  such as handfasting, quaich, sand ceremony, ring warming/blessing, ceremony of light, Jumping the Broom,  to name just a few. Details of Ceremony enhancements are included on my website  www.weddingandfamilycelebrant.ie   and when we meet I will explain the many possibilities to you. If you want a ceremony full to the brim or more low key, the choice is entirely yours, I will give you the options and you make your choices.

As a HSE Registered Solemniser of Marriage I will advise you on the legal requirements for getting married, from registering your Notice of Intent to Marry with the HSE to the issue of your Marriage Registration Form (Green Folder).

My all inclusive fee for meetings, creating your ceremony, materials for 2 enhancements and officiating at your legal wedding is €595 which includes a non refundable booking deposit of €200 payable when the booking is confirmed. This safeguards both of us, as once booked, I ringfence your date. I guarantee to maintain this price for all Ceremonies for 2023, 2024 and 2025. Going forward for 2026 onwards I may have to increase my fee slightly.

I would be delighted to have a face to face chat with you so that I can get a sense of the type of ceremony you would like. I am happy to meet on Zoom or WhatsApp Video at a time that suits you.  I can accommodate you time wise so just let me know what works best for you.
